VEHICLE-DATA PRIVACY NOTICE

Your vehicle data stays scoped to you.

What this website requests

Systems Lab uses Smartcar to connect vehicles only after their owners authorize access. Depending on the vehicle selected and the permissions granted, it requests vehicle make, model, year, battery level and electric range, fuel level and fuel range, fuel remaining, and odometer readings. It does not request precise vehicle location or vehicle-control permissions.

Sign-in and vehicle authorization are separate

Your application sign-in uses Manus. Your sign-in identifier and, when supplied, your name and email are stored in the application's database. Vehicle-account sign-in happens through Smartcar and the manufacturer. This website does not collect or store your Toyota, Tesla, or Ford account password.

How information is stored and used

Owner-scoped connection identifiers, granted permissions, vehicle details, and the latest manually retrieved readings are stored in this application's managed database. They are used to show your vehicle dashboard and to request the readings you authorized. Vehicle information is available only to the corresponding authenticated application account through the website's APIs.

Developer credentials remain in the server environment. Short-lived Smartcar application tokens are kept only in server memory; no vehicle access token or API secret is placed in browser storage. The public learning pages separately save lesson progress on your device. Hosting-provider analytics and infrastructure logs may also be collected; the application does not intentionally log vehicle-account passwords or API tokens.

Providers and data freshness

Manus provides application hosting, login, and database services. Smartcar and your vehicle manufacturer provide the authorized vehicle connection and data. Their respective service and privacy terms also apply. Readings can be incomplete or delayed and are not a substitute for the vehicle's own instruments.

Retention and disconnecting

Vehicle-connection records and the latest cached readings remain stored until you disconnect that vehicle from this website. Use its Disconnect action in the vehicle dashboard. After the provider confirms removal, this application deletes the connection record and its cached readings. If the provider request fails, the dashboard reports the failure rather than claiming the connection was removed.

Disconnecting a vehicle does not delete your application sign-in account or local lesson progress, and it does not operate or change your vehicle. If you need to revoke access outside this website, use the controls available in Smartcar or the manufacturer's connected-services account.

Read-only by design

This integration includes no driving commands, lock or unlock actions, charging controls, or fuel dispensing. Each vehicle owner must separately authorize access. Adding a model to the website does not automatically connect every vehicle of that model.
